Every device we sell goes through the same inspection in our Las Vegas facility before it's listed. The grade you choose only describes how the outside looks. Excellent, Good and Fair all pass the same functional tests, carry the same 1-year warranty and ship with the same accessories. Lower grades cost less because of visible wear, nothing else.
Looks close to new. Little to no sign of use.
Body
At most a faint mark you have to look for. No dents, no deep scratches, no key wear.
Screen
Clean. No scratches, marks or spots when the screen is on.
Light wear you'll notice up close. Works like new.
Body
Light scratches or small scuffs on the body. Possibly minor paint wear. No dents.
Screen
Fine scratches you might see with the screen off. Nothing visible with the screen on.
Visible wear. Fully tested, works the same as the others.
Body
Noticeable scratches, scuffs or small dents. Some models ship with a protective skin over worn areas.
Screen
Visible scratches, or light spots on older LCDs. Still clear and fully working.
Activation and firmware locks
Every device is checked for firmware, MDM and activation locks. Locked units never make it to the store.
Battery health
We measure the battery's current capacity against its original capacity. Anything under 80% doesn't ship.
Display
Screen tested for dead pixels, discoloration, white spots, backlight and touch response.
Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and sensors
Wireless connections, Touch ID or Face ID and motion sensors are checked.
Data wipe and factory reset
The previous owner's data is erased and the device is reset to its welcome screen.
Cleaning
Stickers and residue removed, screen and body cleaned, then sealed in a new bag.
Cosmetic grading
A separate grader inspects the body and screen for scratches, dents and wear, and assigns Excellent, Good or Fair.
Final check and registration
Serial number, specs and grade are matched to the listing before the device is registered into stock.
Keyboard, trackpad and Touch Bar
Every key, the trackpad and the Touch Bar (where fitted) are tested one by one.
Ports and charging
All USB, Thunderbolt, HDMI and charging ports are tested, and the device is charged with the adapter we ship.
Camera, microphone and speakers
Front and rear cameras, microphone and speakers are tested, then speakers are rechecked after a restart.
Processor, memory and storage
Specs are verified against the listing and recorded on the device's label, so you get exactly what you ordered.
