Who it's for
Good for
- A 12.9-inch ProMotion screen in a slimmer all-screen body
- Apple Pencil 2 and Face ID
- USB-C for drives and external displays
- Artists and note-takers on a budget
Not for
- Apple Intelligence features (needs M1 or newer)
- A mini-LED XDR display (starts with the 5th gen)
Our verdict
The redesign that made the big iPad Pro smaller and thinner, with Face ID, USB-C and Apple Pencil 2. Good value for a large drawing screen; the 4th gen adds LiDAR and an ultra wide camera.
