Who it's for
Good for
- Apple Pencil (1st gen) for notes and sketches
- True Tone display and four speakers
- Smart Keyboard support
- A compact budget iPad for reading and video
Not for
- Apps that need iPadOS 17 or later (updates ended at iPadOS 16)
- Face ID, USB-C or Apple Pencil 2
Our verdict
A small, well-built iPad with Pencil support and four speakers. Fine for notes and media, but updates have ended; the iPad Pro 10.5 is a better buy if you can stretch.
