Who it's for
Good for
- Retina display with True Tone and Touch ID
- The improved Magic Keyboard (no butterfly)
- 512GB of storage and a Core i5
- Students and office work
Not for
- Apps that need macOS 26 or later (tops out at macOS 15 Sequoia)
- Video editing or heavy loads (Intel runs warm)
- Battery life to match the M1 Air
Our verdict
The last Intel MacBook Air, with the better Magic Keyboard. Fine for everyday work, but the M1 Air is faster, quieter and supported longer.
