Who it's for
Good for
- Writing, email, Google Docs and web
- 256GB of storage for files and photos
- Long battery life and a comfortable keyboard
- USB-A ports and MagSafe 2, no dongles
Not for
- Photo or video editing
- Apps that need macOS 13 or later (tops out at macOS 12 Monterey)
- A sharp Retina display (this is the 1440x900 panel)
Our verdict
The classic 2017 Air with 256GB of storage. Good for schoolwork, writing and browsing; buy it knowing the screen is older-style and the software stops at Monterey.
