Who it's for
Good for
- Touch Bar and Touch ID
- Four Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) ports
- A faster Core i5 than the function-key model
- Photo editing, coding and multitasking
Not for
- Software requiring macOS 14 or later (tops out at Ventura)
- Butterfly keyboard skeptics
Our verdict
The 2017 Touch Bar Pro: four ports, Touch ID and more speed than the function-key version. A good budget pick for students and office work.
