Who it's for
Good for
- Big 15-inch Retina display
- Quad-core i7 for coding and photo work
- USB-A, HDMI, SD card and MagSafe 2
- A reliable scissor keyboard
Not for
- Apps that need macOS 13 or later (tops out at macOS 12 Monterey)
- Gaming or GPU-heavy work (integrated graphics)
Our verdict
The 2015 15-inch Pro is a favorite for its ports and keyboard. A big, capable screen at a low price; buy it knowing software stops at Monterey.
